Patrol Times:
Saturday Start: 12.00 hours Finish: 18.00 hours
Sunday and Public Holidays Start: 12.00 hours Finish: 18.00 hours
All Club Lifesavers are requested to attend and provide water safety services for our Annual 1&2km and Team Swims on Australia Day - Saturday 26 January 2013.
The primary focus for Williamstown Swimming and Life Saving Club is to provide a safe and enjoyable beach experience for everyone. This is achieved by providing volunteer beach patrols on weekends and public holidays during the patrol season.
Our patrol teams are there to help and are staffed by highly trained volunteers. Each patroller must undertake a Certificate II in Public Safety (Aquatic Rescue) or Surf Rescue Certificate (Junior Lifesaver) before being allowed to put on a red and yellow cap.
The patrol teams are comprised of as a minimum;
- Patrol Captain
- Vice Captain
- IRB (Inflatable Rescue Boat) Crew and Driver
- Advanced Resuscitation Certificate and Defibrillation Award or Advanced Resuscitation Techniques
- Basic Beach Management
- Spinal Management
Most patrol teams also have a number of other qualifications within their ranks including;
- Radio Operator
- Senior First Aid
